Welcome back! Please read for important information.
Hello Wahoo families,
Welcome back, returning Wahoo families! To all the newcomers, I am so happy your family decided to join the Weddington Wahoo swim team this summer!
For those of you who do not know me, my name is Nathan McCormick and I will be the head coach again this season. I am a rising senior at Lenoir Rhyne University, with a major in biology and the hope to attend Physician Assistant school in the near future. I am a member of the Lenoir Rhyne men's swim team and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Nationals Honors Society.
My journey with swimming began at the age of 4. I swam on several club teams including the Dynamo, Swim Atlanta, and SwimMac Carolina. My coaching career began at 14 when I began working at SwimMac in the swim school and with the Junior Swim League. I eventually transitioned to coaching higher level swimmers on the SwimMac team and providing private lessons around the Weddington community. This will be my second season as head coach for the Wahoos.
I have a passion for understanding and teaching the intricacies of swimming. My staff and I will work hard to help develop your child to be the best they can in the pool. We will also provide a fun and encouraging environment for the kids.
Attached is a reference flier that contains information about our coaching staff, goals for each age group, upcoming swim clinics, supplemental private lessons, Swimtopia, and our training schedule outline. Please take a second to view this information.
I will be hosting a parents Q&A session after the first practice on May 16th at 6:30pm. We will meet at the picnic tables.
I look forward to seeing everyone again and meeting any new faces. Please feel free to approach me during practice if you need anything or just want to say hello . Also if you have any questions please do not hesitate to email me at [email protected]. Thank you and I cannot wait for this summer.
Nathan McCormick
