We closed out the 2022 registration with 126 swimmers from 76 families. Coach Nathan has loved seeing lots of returning faces and plenty of new swimmers. Our team has been practicing for two weeks. The coaches have all been impressed with the enthusiasm and progress from the swimmers. We have one more week of practice before time trials and our first swim meet. As a reminder we will have a regular Greater Charlotte Swim League (GCSL) format this season with in-person dual meets – 3 home and 3 away on Monday and Thursday evenings in June as well as a divisional all-star meet at the end of the season for select swimmers

SwimTopia

Swimtopia is the central hub for info and communications regarding the Wahoos swim team. You will RSVP for swim meets and sign up for volunteer jobs and RSVP for other events using Swimtopia, as well. The Swimtopia mobile app is also highly encourage (available for iPhone and Android). With the app you can receive alerts and notifications on your mobile device. You can also follow along at meets to keep up with current event/heat as well as swim results and scoring.

Team Apparel and Merchandise Pickup

If you haven’t picked up your towels and caps volunteers will be on hand at time trials and at the first 2 meets of the season. Merchandise from the team store will be delivered to the club and distributed as well. Look for more details regarding picking up team store merchandise.

We do have replacement latex swim caps for sale ($5/each). We also have a limited number of silicon swim caps available for purchase ($22/each). Please contact Kimberly Barker for more info.

Team Pitcure Day: June 6, 4:00-5:30 for individual and team photos by Classic Photography and Imaging will. Pre-fill order form and pre-pay for faster experience at picture session (see flyer below)

Meet Entries and Volunteer Jobs

Please RSVP your swimmer(s) for the Time Trials and the first meet of the season so Coach Nathan can enter them into their swim events. If you know your swimmers’ availability for other meets this season you can go ahead RSVP, too. Please RSVP so the coaches know if your swimmer is attending or not.

Our volunteer coordinator (Cathy Osmera) is still working on some volunteer job details. We expect to open sign-ups for volunteer jobs for the time trails and the first meet later this week.

Swim Practices

With the exception of holidays there will be daily practices throughout the season. We practice on the days we have swim meets. However, there will not be practice on 6/6 as we have pictures and time trials that afternoon and evening.

Practices shift to mornings once all local schools are out (6/9). Friday practices will be “Fun Fridays” with some practice work along with games and other fun activities. The last regular season practice will be Tue 6/28 – morning after final meet – and will also be a fun practice.
