Wahoos families,

I hope your Wahoos enjoyed the 2022 swim season. It was
wonderful to see the kids having fun while learning and improving in the sport
of swimming.

The Wahoos finished the regular season in second place in
the GCSL Division 2 with a 5-1 record. The team took first place at the
All-star meet. And most admirably, in my view, the team was awarded the
Sportsmanship Award as voted on by our peer teams in the division. Please see
attached list of Wahoos season awards and records that we handed out at the End
of Season Social.

If you haven’t picked up your Season Medal (all Wahoos
receive these), any season awards and ribbons (from regular season or All-star
Meet) please look for them in the office hallway at the WSRC clubhouse. ** If
you were unable to attend the end of season social, please look for your
swimmer’s season medal here. The items will be placed away in storage after
August 7.

Many parents have asked about a team contact list so they
can communicate with the rest of the team to engage on potential activities and
get togethers for Wahoos swimmers and families. Please see attachment.

Please look for information from Coach Nathan about
additional swim clinics being offered through early August.

We hope your swimmers enjoyed the season and will be excited
to return to the team next year. If you know of any WSRC families that have kids
that might also enjoy the Wahoos, be sure to tell them about your experience
this season and encourage them to consider joining the team next year.

Several Wahoos have been competing in various USA Swimming championships
this summer. Let’s congratulate and wish good luck to these swimmers:

• Caitlyn Cornell medaled at ESSZ Speedo
  Sectionals last weekend. Will be competing at Jr Nationals in California in
  early August. Was honored as Scholastic All-American this summer.
• Ben Delmar medaled at ESSZ Speedo Sectionals
  last weekend. Will be competing at Jr Nationals in California in early August
  and Pan-Pacific in Hawaii at the end of August.
• June Delmar medaled at the NC Age Group Long
  Course Championships last weekend. Was named to the NC Zone Team and will be
  representing North Carolina at the Southern Zone Championships next week in
  Tupelo, MS.
• Sarah Fleury will be competing at the Futures
  meet this weekend in Cary, NC.
• Jaden Guy medaled at the NC Age Group Long
  Course Championships last weekend. Was named to the NC Zone Team and will be
  representing North Carolina at the Southern Zone Championships next week in
  Tupelo, MS.
• Greg Kisshauer will be competing at the NC
  Senior Championships in Charlotte and Futures Meet in Cary, NC this weekend.
• Jackson McDonald medaled at ESSZ Speedo
  Sectionals last weekend.
• Ian Mervich will be competing at the NC Senior
  Championships this weekend in Charlotte.
• Vihan Prakash medaled at the NC Age Group Long
  Course Championships last weekend.

Brenda Kresak is working to help organize a member forum to
discuss ideas around swim team and the pool in general with the club management
and board leadership. Watch for more details on this.

Thank you again to all the swimmers, parents, and
volunteers. Hope to see you in the “off-season” and most certainly next year
for the 2023 Wahoos swim season.
