Wahoos 6/5 Swim Meet vs. Sardis
June 5th
Good morning Wahoos! Please read this full email.
Timely Updates
- There is NO PRACTICE TONIGHT
- Results from Time Trials are available on Swimtopia and were used to place your swimmer in heats and events for tonight's meet
- We swim in the rain as long as there is no thunder. In the event of a storm delay or cancellation, we will send out an email in advance of the meet
Schedule for Monday 6/5
- 5:15 Arrive-by time
- 5:30-5:45 Wahoos Warm-ups (this can look overwhelming the first couple of times you see it, but trust the coaches - they've got it down to a science!)
- 5:45-6:00 Sardis Warm-ups
- 6:00 Meet begins
Parking & Seating
- Parking lot and street parking are available, but the lot will fill quickly
- Wahoos spectators should sit on the side of the pool to the left of the entrance near the concession stand
Events / Heat Sheet
- Heat sheets will generally be available via Swimtopia the night before the meet. Go to "Calendar" then view the date/meet of interest, (image below so you know what you're looking for if you want to self-provision in the future).
- You can view them via short-cut here, and there is also a link that organizes it by swimmer for ease. The web version is often less-glitchy than the app, (and still works on mobile)
- Please do not depart until you notify Sarah or Skylar so they can confirm that your child does not have any remaining events and/or be aware if we have a scratch
- If you have any concerns/questions regarding what your swimmer is signed-up for, please contact Sarah or Skylar directly at [email protected] or [email protected]
Food & Fun
- Burgers, chicken and hot dogs will be available for purchase, and the snack stand will also be open
- Sardis has a Hawaiian theme and welcomed us to participate
Volunteers
- Please check-in when you arrive
- Contact Jennelle Vickers for any changes regarding volunteering at [email protected]
Swimmer Reminders
- Please write your child's first and last name on their back, arm or cap
- Write events/heats/lanes on their arms or legs
- Swimmers must wear their Wahoos cap or a plain cap. If they wear a cap that has a year-round team or school name, they could be DQ's (disqualified)
- Good sportsmanship is a Wahoos must! Thank you for encouraging your children to cheer on their team mates when they are not swimming, and to congratulate their opponents after their event
- Swimmers need to wait in the water until the last swimmer arrives at the wall
Next Meet
- Thursday 6/8 at Providence Downs, 8723 Kentucky Derby Dr, Waxhaw, NC 28173
- Meet sign-up is open and will close by EOD Tuesday, 6/6
- Heat sheets will be available the evening of Weds 6/7 or morning of Thurs 6/8
Thanks and see you tonight!
